Boschendal Farm

Nestled between the Simonsberg and Drakenstein mountains an hour outside of Cape Town, lies Boschendal Farm. Dating back to 1685, Boschendal is one of South Africa’s oldest wine farms and the history of this place is apparent in the beautiful scenery and buildings.

The farm’s fruit orchards intertwine with the protected reserve of the Franschhoek Valley and its more than 600 fynbos
species. The farm embraces its role in nature and raises grass-fed cattle, forest-fed pigs and free range chickens alongside gardens of beautiful fresh produce.

As a guest in one of the farm’s stylishly simplistic cottages you have every opportunity to explore the farm by foot, bicycle or horseback. Pick fruit from the orchards, explore the local caves, swim in the dams, visit the wine cellars to taste the exquisite wines or simply curl up with a good book and immerse yourself in your tranquil surrounds. The opportunities are endless, and with a variety of restaurants, dining options and farm fresh shops to provision for self-catering, so too are the culinary delights.
